Light meter
for film, in your iPhone.

Nit meters reflected and incident light through the iPhone camera, computes the exposure triangle with an APEX solver and knows 49 film stocks — from Kodak Portra to CineStill 800T. With live film look, zone system and push/pull.

01

Exposure triangle

Aperture, shutter, ISO — the APEX solver does the math.

Lock one value and the app computes the other two in third-stop steps (Minolta standard). Reflected or incident metering through the camera, spot metering by tapping the image. Exposure simulation ±3 EV via the hardware bias.

02

49 film stocks

Kodak, Fuji, Ilford, CineStill and more.

Load film virtually — ISO sets itself, push/pull badge from ±0.1 stops. Film recommendation matched to the metered scene. Includes reciprocity correction for long exposures up to 60 min.

03

Histogram + zones (Pro)

Ansel Adams zone system live in the viewfinder.

Live histogram with 11 zones after Ansel Adams, clipping warning in blue/red, bimodal backlight detection. Two-zone metering with compromise EV and a dynamic-range check against the film’s latitude.

04

Film-look live preview (Pro)

See how the film will look.

Saturation, warmth, contrast, tone curve, vignette, grain and halation as a CIFilter chain over the live preview. Push/pull modifies the look. Saved photos run through the same renderer — pixel-identical to the preview.

05

Camera + lens (Pro)

110 real bodies, 35 interchangeable lenses.

From Leica M6 to Praktica MTL5, from Linhof Technika to Hasselblad 500CM — plus 48 folding cameras from East/West Germany and the USSR. The iPhone sensor zooms to the 35mm-equivalent focal length and masks the negative format (3:2 / 1:1 / 5:4 / 7:6). Preview and photo show the frame the analog camera would actually expose.

06

22 lens filters (Pro)

Glass filters with physically accurate effect.

Y2/O2/R3 for B&W contrast, ND2 to ND1000 for long exposure, 85B/80A for conversion, IR720/IR850 for infrared. Stackable with additive EV correction. The live preview computes channel transmissions on B&W film and tints on color film — the yellow filter darkens the sky, not the whole image.

07

Lomo mode (Pro)

Toy-camera presets as a complete package.

Holga 120, Lomo LC-A, Diana F+ and Fisheye 2 — aperture, shutter and film look are preset per camera. Vignette, cross-processing and lo-fi character run through the same pipeline as the film look; live preview and photo are identical.

08

Depth of field + bokeh (Pro)

DoF live in the viewfinder, computed per film format.

Circle-of-confusion–based depth of field per format (35mm, 6×6, 6×7, 4×5). Live bokeh shows what’s in focus and what isn’t — before you shoot. LiDAR distance measurement (iPhone Pro) feeds the distance into the DoF calculation automatically.
